Ty Manning and the Slawdog Biscuits

Ty Manning and the Slawdog Biscuits, based in Athens, Georgia, have been a musical force since 1994. Ty Manning, previously a member of The Bearfoot Hookers, achieved notable success with the band, including numerous shows, three original albums, and recognition through awards and media appearances.

Following the disbandment of The Bearfoot Hookers, Ty pursued solo gigs and eventually formed a full band known as Ty Manning and Friends, which later adopted the name Ty Manning & the Slawdog Biscuits. The band comprises talented musicians Scott Nicholson, Derek Warren, Connor Griffin, and Adam Poulin, and their music blends rock ‘n’ roll with influences from 70s and 80s country. Drawing comparisons to Ace Frehley, The Black Crowes, and Ronnie Milsap, their energetic performances pack a punch.

Ty’s musical roots lie in the golden era of 70s country, and his guitar skills were shaped by the hair metal of the late 80s. His music represents a unique blend of dysfunctional 70s country and 80s hard rock, heavily influenced by blues and the guitar playing of icons like Billy Gibbons, Ace Frehley, Angus Young, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He also draws inspiration from acclaimed songwriters Todd Snider, Robert Earl Keen, and Ryan Adams.

Ty Manning’s captivating performances pay homage to the legends while showcasing his own distinct sound, reminiscent of his upbringing in Waycross, Georgia.
